Silly question, yet I can’t seem to find an answer. Are bamboo straws reusable/ cleanable after using in a Scorpion bowl?
Sincerely,

I would imagine they are. After all, they are basically wood. I like metal straws though since bacteria can't soak into them or form in or on them like a bamboo straw.

Or use disposable bamboo printed paper straws. $6.95/100 on Amazon (Smile!).

I dig these grass straws. They're disposable and you don't feel bad about it. And they don't get soggy like the paper straws do.

I might have to give these a go. . . a 119-pack of straws is the strangest thing I've seen yet today (it's still morning though). They even look nice for tiki drinks.

Anything is better than those crappy paper straws!

These showed up at last weekend's luau and were better than I expected:

And, yes, bamboo straws are reusable...

Speaking of bamboo straws … I went down this rabbit hole lately as well.

Bamboo are reusable but as mentioned … a pain to clean. They make specific cleaner brushes for them, though. The down side? Taste. Do you want to taste “wood” when you are sipping you favorite drink? Nah. It’s like drinking your tiki and licking a popsicle stick at the same time.

An alternative? Biodegradable sugar cane straws! They smell wonderful (like sugar cane!), have the mouth feel of a “regular” straw, but they are safe for the environment. They also have agave straws, but I like the sugar cane best. And they are soooo much cheaper.

Do a search on Amazon, not hard to find.

I don't know if they are available up there, but down here, they make straws out of avocado seeds. Don't ask me how. But if there's one thing there will never be a shortage of, it's discarded avocado seeds. No added taste, and highly biodegradable!
