Wrestler ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage died in a car wreck Friday morning.

The iconic WWF star suffered a heart attack while driving his Jeep Wranger in Tampa, Florida, according to TMZ.

Along with Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, The Ultimate Warrior and a host of others, Savage was one of the sports all-stars that saw a golden age in the late 1980s and early 90s, performing in Vince McMahon’s World Wrestling Federation. Savage was known for his gravel-scratched, steamrolling smack talk as well as his signature phrase, “Ohhhh yeahhh!,” which he later used in his reoccurring role as the Slim Jim beef-jerky spokesman, growling at customers to “Snap into a Slim Jim.”

Florida Highway Patrol said Savage, whose wife was a passenger but escaped relatively unharmed, “collided head-on with a tree.” Savage was 58.

He may not have been the most famous wrestler, nor held the most titles, but he was always my favorite. Rest in peace, Randy "Macho Man" Savage. Oh, yeah.

Met him once. He was in town for some event and him and a bunch of the guys came to a bar after the show. I remember him being pretty short dude (various sites say 6ft 2in, no way) RIP Macho Man.
