Hello,

My name is Chris and I first met the Denver Chapter when they were manning a booth at the 1950's Tiki Ball in Boulder.

Image

Fate put us together again for the Denver Tiki Tribe's Denver Tiki Home Bar Tour where we saw some amazing Denver Tiki Bars and met a bunch of wonderful people. My wife and I plan on hosting next year in our Tiki Room.

You can see that we have a Tiki bar obsession as you can see by the bars we have littering the house.

We attended the Kahanui and Friends Winter Black Tie Formal where we met even more FOM members, who made me want join this group even more.

We plan on going to Tiki Oasis (Have the room reserved, just waiting for the site to be released) and I just found out about OHANA: Luau at the Lake 2018. I have a client in the area, so we're trying to get that on the calendar as well.

I'm into woodworking and am currently building a Maslow CNC machine that I hope to use to carve molding to wrap the poles in our Tiki room and maybe make a wall out of our windows. I thought I had a unique idea until I found Bosko on the internet.

Hope to meet even more great people

Thanks for the warm welcome.

We bought our tickets for the Ohana - Luau at the Lake and look forward to meeting you all there.

I'm working in this interactive map of Tiki from the comments in the forum if anyone want to see what and where things are mentioned and add to it.

See ya at Ohana!

Also, you might want to add Makahiki: A Night of Tiki that we, Pukapuka, throw here in Indianapolis every year on the map as well. This is our 5th year and will be bigger than years past. This year's is Saturday, September 15th.... Mahalo! Keep up the great work!

Thanks,

I added Makahiki: A Night of Tiki.

This is an open map anyone can view and edit if you want to share it and add your own contribution.

It's organized in layers, so try to keep everything in the right spot by selecting the correct layer before clicking add to map.

Changing the icons also helps, and you can do that by clicking the style bucket on the bottom of the location description.

You can change the description and add information with the edit (pencil) icon. CTRL-Enter adds new lines in the description.

You might want to add Trader Vic's in Emeryville, California (the mother ship to the chain), Forbidden Island in Alameda, California (pioneer of the tiki revival), Tacoma Cabana and Devil's Reef (both in Tacoma and both among the very best tiki bars extant), and Psycho Suzi's in Minneapolis (generally awesome).

Thanks.

The thing we loved the most was how friendly everyone was and the general atmosphere was very welcoming and accepting. It reminded me a lot of Burning Man.
