For those of you not on Facebook, this is a piece I just recently created. Actually, I sculpted it last year and it was stored in a tupperware container, but I just recently made a mold of it and I've been attaching casts of it onto a cup and a bowl.

When I get them done. I'm continuing to make more.

The cup is for FOM only, because it has FOM on the underside of the cup. I made the mold for the cup by scooping out the cup shape from a piece of plaster. I carved the backwards letters FOM into the plaster. I thought one would be ready this week, but there were air pockets in the glaze that popped out, so it had to be re-glazed and re-fired. It should be done next week.

With the FOM cup, I was messing around with this idea of a sort of award for hospitality, to encourage people to open up their home tiki bars. It would work sort of work like the bowling trophies, except at the end of the year, it would go to whoever hosted the most.

How awesome!!! And it totally looks like a tiki-fied version of my man Three-Time Grammy Winning Recording Engineer Vance Powell! I'm gonna need to be on the list of must haves please! :)
