Watching all that snow fall on tv made me cold, so I made this warm flannel cocktail printed Utili-lavalava. Image

LuRu gave me this awesome Patio Jacket pattern and I decided to make one for the Ohana silent auction. You can bid on this at Ohana or if you don't want to wait I can make one for you out of fabric you pick. It's a casual unlined style with lined patch pockets. Prepare for some awesome retro-ness.

Does the fact that I have never heard the term "patio jacket" mean that I was unhip during the Seventies?

Was it possible to be unhip during the Seventies?
That is, when looking back at all that that *lovely* decade had to contribute to decor, fashion, etc. , was it possible to be uncool?

And sadly the answer is, Yes. Yes, it was.
But Fashion Tramp is REDEEMING THE SEVENTIES!
SINGLE-HANDEDLY!!

I am sure the guys on the front of the pattern were just hanging out for 35 years talking to each other in slick 70's lingo about how their time would come again.

I just had to show off this fantastic vintage fabric I got my grubby little hands on. If you think you need a pretty new dress let me know.

I keep feeling like that fabric is sending me subliminal messages.

Yes, don't take hallucinogens in a tiki bar.

That fabric could be used to induce vomiting.
Which is exactly why I'd like to have that made into a shirt.

So far all I'm getting is EIIEEIIE... but I'm sure it will become clear soon.

The Tapa Jacket's in action! Remember the brown one can be yours if you are the winning bidder at the silent auction at Ohana.

Or if you can't wait until then, contact me. 8)

I had to cut into the cool mod fabric and voila, a XL Aloha shirt. What do you think?

Wahine Genius is more like it!

I'm making my list...

1. red and black tapa print patio jacket

2. solid black ULL "Skully style" with red tapa trim at the bottom and maybe on the pocket flaps

3. shorty Samoan ULL but Skully style also and in a fabric like Pupule's cushions...

Send me an estimate, won't you?

And I had an idea of my own regarding the ever evolving ULL:

Over the right thigh, sewn in so that when folded, it would be just below the wasitline, a stainless steel D-ring bar tack sewn onto a little reinforced bit of fabric.

Like this: http://blog.moteng.com/wp-content/uploa ... ng-511.jpg

I have shorts with these, and it makes a great place to hang your keys, your room key, your event badge, or in my case.. I will thread the stem of my billiard pipe through there and carry it that way.

A ULL with that... OMG... I'd never be able to wear pants again. Except in winter... until you make me a flannel lined ULL.

Oh, also...

A pen sleeve sewn beside the pockets would be keen. Just a simple tube of fabric so one could slip a Sharpie on one side and a standard clicky pen with a clip on the other.

Check out this bag picture:

http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/cat ... detail.jpg

See how that Sharpie slips in next to and outside of the mobile phone pocket? That's what I'm talking about.

All the times at an event where you need a pen... or a marker... and I hate to carry the man purse at an event..
