Hi there
Welcome please say hello and tell us about yourself, this way we can get to know you... Once you tell us about yourself where your from and so on, you'll most likely be asked to become a Moai, then you'll be free to lurk around or add in on topics outside of the Port, We would just like to know who you are, before you join the Moai family...
We dont bite and initiation doesnt involve a goat, paddle or flaming skewers.....
LOL
Welcome Freinds!

Greetings, FOMers! My name's Denis & I hail from Dayton, Ohio, once and former home to the Tropics supper club and the King Cole, and Suttmillers etc. etc.

I'm an advertising guy & freelance writer, and designer. My buddy and I run a small graphic design biz we call FNHarsh Designs. We do mostly gigposters and music packaging for local and regional bands. We've done posters for bands like Nicky-Kay and his fabulous Kay-Tones, Rev. Horton Heat, Link Wray and a load of others.

Should I be deemed worthy of entry, I feel I would prove to be a valuable member.

Thanks!

I checked out the site, pretty nice stuff. We always dig on artists around here. The average Moai (if there is such a thing) tends to be a creative type.

Glad to see you stop by again. I'm sure the Dayton Moai will be chatting with you. They are organizing fairly quickly there.

Small world! I've heard of FNHarsh and spoke with you briefly via e-mail! Don't you work at Blue Dog as well?

If you have any knowlege of Dayton area Tiki History, I feel you would prove valuable indeed! Would you happen to be the guy who bought one of the Kon-Tiki Theatre Poles from Springfield Antique Center?

Yeah, I'm the Sr. producer at Blue Dog. And no, sadly, I didn't buy the Kon tiki pole - wish I had.

Hey, the other one may still be there. It needs a good home... one with really high ceilings :)

Ah, don't even get my ass started on those damn Kon Tiki poles! it just makes me mad.

BigD you said, "Dayton, Ohio, once and former home to the Tropics supper club and the King Cole, and Suttmillers etc. "

I could tell you a funny story about my adventures at the club which now inhabits the old Suttmillers...not for the squemish...or the politically correct.

I'll bet - I'm not sure what's there now, but they had some pretty wild stuff in the past few years. Last time I was there was (the old suttmillers - then Celebrities) for a Mulchmen/ Guided By Voices show. I think Cage may have played, too.

Great show.
