VooDoo Baby and I had a blast at the Hula Hop last night. Sorry we weren't able to meet anyone, it's a hard road connecting faces to user icons. Some other time, perhaps. The bands were a-rockin' and we're still kicking ourselves for not buying any raffle tickets, those were some great prizes. Also, any place with Shiner on tap is a-ok with me.

Is there any chance that there are still green mugs for sale? I'm a klutz and knocked ours off the kitchen counter 5 minutes after we got home.

Ouch, that sucks. I've done that before, but I was pretty careful this time. It was indeed a fabulous night and an unqualified success for the FOM and everyone connected with the HRHH. Wonderful moments with the bands involved, though I would've liked to see one "lounge," or tiki-type band. The Randys were simply fantastic. They hopped around musical styles with total abandon, whether it was hula tunes to western swing, and I could've sworn they even played a reggae tune, but it probably a counrty and western thing. Forbidden 5 were interesting to look at. Trash and 60s punk with a dread Zep look. I found Hogscraper to be a bit of Situationist-voodoo-punk-swamp-abilly-performance art-wackyness. Were they giving the Greasers shit, or what? Favorite line: "Since we all comje from the same common source, and all, doesn't that make us some kind of inbred family or something?" Screamin' Jay would've been proud. I told Ahu at the bar that he must be very gratified to see how great it all turned out. No doubt the Columbus Alive article this week helped. I also grabbed a hula-SHAKATIKI and a 5' Exotica Arts tiki pole for $25!!! Man, if only I BROUGHT MORE MONEY!!!

By the way, Damion, my user icon is Sammy Davis, Jr. I would've been VERY EASY to spot! :D

Kid Mongo is well on his way to Fellow Moai status. I'm declaring my sponsorship of him right here.

Kid, pleasure meeting you, and I'll see you at the luau tonight.

For those of ya that missed the HRHH.... what can I say?

Mahalo,

Ahu

Saaay, we're you the taller fella with sunglasses I stood next half the night?

Amen on the money part. I was singing the "iwantitiwantitiwantit" song to myself.

We floated around some, but I think we were under the TV when watching bands. I was busy critique-ing (sp?) the Shiner's slightly metallic taste, as I'm a nerd.

I was in the kitchen mostly, but I think I saw you as I was running back and forth a few times. I may or may not have had my chef coat on, I swapped it for my new blue "FOM" mechanics shirt I got! Glad to see that more folks came out. I figured there might be an Initiate there or two.

That was you? I was standing right beside of you then! Small gal, long dark hair, wearing black fitted shirt with a red and gold vintage tattoo print and black capri pants? Actually, the same outfit that's in my user icon... except I don't have the "Bettie Bangs".

Dimethios - I don't think I saw anyone with a chef coat on, but I saw lots of HRHH shirts! ;)
