Hey,
I have been good friends for years with Ahu.
I like a good mixed drink.
I'm a whiz at a Singapore Sling.
I hate the way most cars made in the last 40 years look.
I own and am very bad at maintaining my 64 Ford Falcon.
I beleive that culture, in general, is in a serious decline, and if the Moai can help, I'm willing to do my part.
That's my story.

*Gasp* That doesn't include the '65 Mustang, does it? Or the Malibu SS Coupe? Or The Superbee?

Sad but true. Our culture is devolving into a post-ironic existential joke without a punchline. And Tiki culture is seemingly a perfect stance against the "End Times!" So go ahead, Rock the Casbah for Jesus, Allah, Wotan, Buddha, and any other nameless Diety that likes a stiff drink. I know I will!

Mahalo!

Folks, that'd be my long time pal Alex who I felt would eventually join the FOM out of sheer frustration with the cultural state of the world right now. I'm confident that many of you whom I have come to know via this Order will be available to show him that a good time can still be had if you choose to create it for yourself, and that the culture of cool still exists outside of the boundaries of Madison Avenue and it's co-opted sales pitch. Escapism is the last bastion of cultural freedom for it provides not an identity, but a total removal of reality and the mundane itself.

Cool is dead, welcome to the new cool. The cool that just is. The cool with no price. The cool that does not come with a sales pitch. The cool that is people getting it done for the sake of doing it. The cool that means more because you had a hand in defining it for yourself.

I know that you all feel this. You bring it here every day.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Tiki is so anti-PC and so unsaleable in it's true form that it borders on the offensive and embraces tacky overindulgence. Our Felow Moai Arturo Finkus once said (paraphrased), "I just want to have a drink out of an ugly head."

Arturo please feel free to correct my second-hand version of your quote.

If you type anything that is very long and ya don't wanna lose it... "right click-copy" saves the day.

Sorry man, that's happened to me on occasion and it sucks.
