I was unfortunately away from the Lounge last night and missed both Happy Hour and this thread. Still, once rehearsal was over there was a Brooklyn lager to be had. Next time I'll bring the porta-bar.

Aaahh...Plymouth is my best gin friend. But I only have it on special occasions, when I'm only having one. *

Because on too much gin I become the girl that laughs really loudly and frenches your wife, and I don't like that girl so much.

*of course me only having one drink kind of IS a special occasion.

Note to self:

Stock up on Plymouth for Patty.

This is a fun thread!

So what are you drinking tonight?

On Saturday night, I had a double Tanqueray dry Martini on the rocks w/ 6 olives. I can sympathize with Patty. I won't kiss anyone's wife, but too much gin can make me kinda mean. I drank this whilst watching SpiderMan 3 (BTW, there's a fantastic PIE quote delivered by James Franko/New Goblin, in that flick. The delivery was Oscar-worthy. Seriously.). Anyhoo, there's a sequence where Peter Parker gets infected with some symbiotic crawling-goo from a meteor, and he starts acting like a real ass. The gin was just kicking in, and I spent the remainder of the movie rooting for him to be an even bigger ass/yell at more landlords/beat up more bouncers/break more hearts/psychologically destroy the twerp from "That 70's Show"/tell that damned J. Johnah Jamison to get bent/etc. I was the most fun I've had watching a SuperHero movie since the 1989 Batman.

Oh, no. This deserves its own thread.

That's Cheese. He was on the scene way before Spongebob.

The V-Lounge is scheduled for more or less the same forecast,PIA, so aisle bee mixin' tall-ass drinks. First, though, I will deliver the promised martinis. Haven't decided on the follow-up, will post later. BTW, did this week just blow by in no time or what? Oh yeah, that was intentional so we'd get to H-hour faster.

Emphasis on "blow."

We sampled the leap year cocktail. Most worthy.

Yes, worthy indeed. We at the Blue Lory also partook of the Leap Year Cocktail as part of our happy hour (much thanks to the elusive Birdgirl for the suggestion)!

It definitely makes the blanket of white stuff seem less painful.

Just finished my Leap Year cocktail. Very nice. We've moved on to mai tais, since we're having food from the "Trader Vic's Tiki Party" book.

Maybe he should name it the Creature Cocktail in honor of Ben.

Very sad indeed. RIP

Who was it that said: I like one martini, two at the most. Three I'm under the table, and four I'm under the host.

It's just around the corner and I could definitely use a cocktail. So, what will we be drinking tonight across FOMnation?

The bitters thread got me thinking about a proper martini with orange bitters, but currently I've only got blood orange bitters. I might try that anyway. However, I did some cleaning out my rss feeds recently and saved this older post from Loki for the Honolulu Cocktail: http://modernhobbit.blogspot.com/2008/01/honolulu-cocktail.html, Gin, Benedictine, Marascino and bitters, a nice twist from where I started out. Follow the link for a picture and the recipe (It's always nice to get a little blog traffic).

Of course thinking of Loki and Bitters reminds me that I haven't cracked open my Peychaud's bitters that Loki gave me as part of a fine birthday present, so maybe between here and home I'll have a change of heart, (er taste) and go for a Sazerac.

Decisions, Decisions...

So what are you drinking tonight?

Coincidentally, I had Sapphire martinis last night with orange bitters- Yummm. I alternate between a twist and orange bitters.
