Blizzards to start, Black Magics next, now Navy Grogs for a walk to watch the high tide and storm surge.

My place has become the neighborhood storm bunker.

A death in the family has meant that we've been on more or less of a bender, but tonight is NOT the night to end said bender. We started with a tequila and lime cocktail (Hi, word filter! ) and round two is going to be a Mai Tai.

Tiki has been our friend throughout all this. FOM Fellows have been fabulous and we went to Kowloon after the cemetery yesterday (a suggestion which was warmly greeted by the family, further demonstrating the power of tiki and tropical cocktails to bring folks together  ).

Trader Vic's post war Fogcutter.

Maybe it will cut through the fog of being on the graveyard shift.

Last-minute drop in guests tonight, so Thursday night happy hour for us! Started with Trader Vic Passion Punch, moving on to Mai Tais, then wine with dinner. Yes, we both are working tomorrow. :drunk:

Friday: Otto's Shrunken Head, since our friend is DJing. Probably Six Points beer, although I do like their Stormy Skull. 8)

Kristiki has been thumbing through a copy of Remixed for 10 minutes so we'll be having a cocktail.... eventually.

I just got home so I whipped up a blender of Scorpions. Next will probably be either a Jet Pilot or Navy Grog. Decisions, decisions. :drunk:

The rose water in your orgeat should be from the foothills of Pomona and the orange blossom water is best from the little grove north of San Juan Capistrano where Bing used to stop on his way to Del Mar.

Huh. And I thought it was East of town, just off Rte. 74, up in the hills.

Like Kristiki, I also turned to Remixed tonight. We had some fresh pineapple so I went with a Boo Loo. Mmmm, rummy!

South in Capo Beach and Dana Point you won't find anything but a few pre-1970 lime trees. East on the Ortega is all hippie hot springs and bikers (and a nice hunter stable).
It's the Junipero Serra exit, past the MCM coffee shop (Apres-Tiki's first California job was as a hostess there.)

Scored some Carpano Antica at a reasonable price while in LA, so it's rum Manhattan's every happy hour until it's gone. Currently using Zaya as the rum.

Truly...

But, this is a recipe I "torqued" for Depaz using their rum and their simple syrup.
