Aloha Kāne and Wāhine,

I'm new here and would like to introduce myself. At the appropriate time, I'd like to join your fraternal hui.

I'm a 48yo avid tiki collector, professional illustrator/graphic designer and semi-professional musician currently living in Denver.

I fell in love with tiki culture while living on Maui about 12 years ago and would spend far too much money at the Thor shop every time I was in Honolulu. (I'm kidding. I've never regretted a tiki purchase.). I also collect lowbrow art in the Big Daddy Ed Roth vein (which has some overlap with tiki culture) and I own a 1961 VW Beetle that I'm constantly tinkering with.

I know there's a lot of fellow creatives here so I'm excited get hipped to some cool artist and music.

Mahalo

Aloha!

I have a soft spot for oval, split windows, and just swing arms in general. It's a Los Angeles thing. Not a Thing, just a regular type 1, really. Although, if I every dabble in air cools again, I am leaning towards the square back.

It’s probably not a popular answer around here, but I’m more of a beer guy. Maui Brew Co.’s Coconut Porter is one of my favorites.

Our differences are what make us interesting. I'm not a beer gal at all but that's more beer for you and more cocktails for me!

Aloha!!!

I like a good stout or porter myself, otherwise not a beer lover. But rum is my middle name. Or at least it seems like it should be lord knows I drink enough of it!

Happy to see you land on the beach! Enjoy!

Oh cool. I don’t know about California, but square backs and fast backs are rare as hen’s teeth out here.

I'm more of a beer / wine person myself, because I'm too lazy to make tiki drinks at home. Anything more than 2 - 3 ingredients, typically doesn't get made unless for special occasions. If I'm at a decent bar, then I go for the cocktails, usually, unless there's a special beer on draft.

I do love a good coconut beer. Coconut does pair well with dark beers. Although, I am a sucker for "novelty" beers and bought a bomber of a Coconut Curry Hefeweizen a few years ago. It was probably one of the most disgusting beers I have ever had. Most of that bomber got poured down the sink.

Aloha and Welcome to the Port!

I know of this beer you speak and it is mighty tasty! Have not seen it in Georgia yet, so been sipping Kona Koko Brown when I have been in the mood for that kind of flavor.
