Just wondering what everybody is reading these days? I have got a list about three miles wide, but am currently hooked on Sanderson's Oathbringer series lately. How about ya'll? Anything of note?

I'm currently on the last chapter of "Ganged by Bigfoot".

Image

It's pretty good.
Not as good as Bigfoot Menage

Image

But better than "Broken In By Bigfoot"

Image

But as far as I'm concerned nothing will ever top "Bigfoot and the Kinky Couple: Sex With Bigfoot, Book 2"

Image

It's really the Empire Strikes Back of the Sex with Bigfoot trilogy.

The originals are so much better than the Skunk Ape spinoff series. I think anytime you you pull a beast train story south of the Mason Dixon, it goes a little too much "we call that Tuesday down these parts, ya all."

South Breach Bigfoot was the exeption. The Miami Vice motel chapter in the Dade County Cascades Lodge made me want to try out a few new angles at home, if you know what I mean.

The bigfoot series has always been a hit from what I heard.

Anyone ever read "Sexy Underwater Loch Ness Adventure"?

Image

Not bad.
Not enough Loch Ness Monster in my opinion.

Oddly enough, "Gay Underwater Loch Ness Adventure"

Image

has lots of Loch Ness Monster but isn't all that gay.

Ever since the Loch Ness Monster was used in that interspecies STD awareness educational campaign, it is too gross to think about. Those prudes ruined all 15 books, forever. Why couldn't they just use sheep, which is the problem. The Highland Sheep Tour lobby has too much power. The whole round at St Andrews and a romp in the paddock is so popular with people in the flavored vodka marketing sector, you have to check your mutton for whip marks.

The trailer for Mortal Engines has me thinking I should read that series.

But first I have a stack of 2 years worth of Fantasy & Science Fiction Magazine to catch up on.

And I want to read John Keegan's The First World War in 2018. Hundredth anniversary and all.

As usual, I am always re-reading a Discworld novel by Sir Terry Pratchett.

"Articulating Rapa Nui: Polynesian Cultural Politics in a Latin American Nation-State"

Kind of academic, but still interesting. I like to read any books about Easter Island, and any books about the history of rock 'n roll. (I wonder if there is a book about the history of rock 'n roll on Rapa Nui? Hmm...)

Unfortunately, I think the only real history of rock and roll on the island prolly consists of theories on how the moat were moved.

Well, this went pretty far off the rails... not surprised, just commenting.

I'm reading:
Magpie Murders - Anthony Horowitz - I'm about 2/3 of the way through, pretty fantastic so far
Origin - Dan Brown - exactly what you'd expect in the Robert Langdon series
Killers of the Flower Moon - David Grann - 100% recommend for any true crime buffs out there

2018 recommendations (to date):
This is How it Always Is - Laurie Frankel - novel about a family, raising a transgender child, superb!
Turtles All the Way Down - John Green - I just love everything he writes
Hillbilly Elegy - JD Six-Time Grammy Winning Recording Engineer St. Vance Powell - memoir about growing up in the rustbelt in a dysfunctional family, very interesting

What are some others' recent favorites?

I just started reading this last night.
Really good.

After that I've got:
13 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do: Take Back Your Power, Embrace Change, Face Your Fears, and Train Your Brain for Happiness and Success
Image

I usually read a book like this in-between other books as a palate cleanser.
It helps me to refocus and stay mindful.
More helpful than most people think.

After that, it's on to:
Fringe Florida: Travels among Mud Boggers, Furries, Ufologists, Nudists, and Other Lovers of Unconventional Lifestyles
Image

Because who doesn't love Florida, UFOs and Furries?

While waiting for the latest volume of David Wingrove's science fiction epic Chung Kuo to arrive in the post, I have been reading Maureen Dowd's The Year Of Voting Dangerously, a collection of her columns about the 2016 election. Love her style, although with events moving as fast as they do there isn't a lot of isight to be gained from material published before we knew who would win the elelction.

Me too.

I am reading Mrs Roosevelt's Confidante and pretending it's historical instead of the pulpy mystery it really is.

I just got Smugglers Cove. So far, so good. Appropriately, we just had a Meet-N-Greet at the Mai-Kari and it feathered a Smugglers Cove Drink Flight.
