Hello there. I am TraderDick666. I wish to become a member of F. O. M. So far there is one member that I have met and knows me pretty well and there is a new initiate that knows me also. I live in St. Augustine, Florida. I've attended The Hukilau since 2005. I was the bartender for our Tiki in Space room during the 2010 Hukilau, the one with the full size Robbie the Robot in it. My interest is in mixology, carving and other art work pertaining to Tiki. I have assisted in the on-going restoration of the Bahi Hut by donating proper Tikis for the enjoyment of all. I'm pretty laid back and easy to get along with. I have visited the Hawaiian Islands and seen some of the remaining original Tikis.

Alohowdy! Welcome!

St. Augustine? That is an old town. Don't they still sell rum in onion bottles there?

Glad to see you wash up on the F.O.M. shores, after our conversation I suspected we would see you here soon !

I have known TraderDick666 for many moons and yes...

In addition to Tiki, TraderDick666 participates in some very cool Historical War Reenactments. I think the Spanish-American right ?

Here we are at a recent meet up with visiting Atlanta Port initiates roadriverrail &. Prof. Babe-Alon as well as new initiate RoboTiki.

TraderDick666 generously loaned this sweet Marquesan to the Hut and this is typical of the way he rolls.
TraderDick666 and RoboTiki go Waaaay back and have some great stories and restoration preservation & talents and some awesome collections of cool stuff. I look forward everyone getting to know him as I have !

Welcome to the Port !

Aloha and Okole Maluna. Tell us about some of your favorite rums. I'd ask about your favorite tiki bars and tiki art the like, but I suspect that your involvement in the Bahi Hut project tells us a bunch about that side of your tiki life. Some day I will talk my wife into attending Hukilau, and hope to meet you then.

One very old carving that is much the worse for wear. I need to try a new one soon.

Scott Spear and Bill Dillard are the two most involved with the Bahi Huts rebirth, if you will. I do what I can when I'm down there. Mostly mix drinks and lend moral support!

The St. Augustine Winery used to sell their port wine in a replica onion bottle.

I've been a reenactor for over 40yrs doing mostly Rev War. Currently I am retired but working part-time at the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park as an historic weapons interpreter. I show people how crossbows, matchlock guns and 16th c. cannons are fired. It's a lot of fun, but it gets very hot and humid in the summer.

Without a doubt Havanna Club is hands down the best rum I personally have ever tasted. Silky smooth with an unforgettable taste. Whenever I go overseas for vacation I look for it. In duty free if I can find it or a liquor store if necessary. I found some on a French 'supemarche' once. I like Appelton's aged rum for Mai Tais along with Sarasota's own Siesta Key Gold rum. The Bahi Hut is a blast from the past but The Mai Kai is a temple of Tiki we are lucky to have. It's spectacular in every sense of the word.
