Greetings all! To start, Gen (atomicbettie) and I would like to thank all of those that made it up to Montreal this past weekend! It was our absolute pleasure to have those who made it to our place over fora pre-outing cocktail! Everyone was so awesome and so much fun was had!

For all those interested, I thought I'd post the recipe of the cocktail we made for the evening (since it completely disappeared in under an hour!) as everyone seemed to enjoy it! It was a variation on Don the Beachcomber's Mai Tai and the recipe is as follows:

1 oz gold rum (we used El Dorado 5yr)
1 oz white rum (we used Havana Club)
    1 oz white grapefruit juice
    3/4 oz lime juice
    1/2 oz Cointreau
    1/4 oz orgeat
    1/4 oz allspice syrup
    2 drops Pernod
    2 dashes of Angostura bitters

Shake it up on ice and serve!

Thank you guys so much! That cocktail was delicious, and we had a fantastic time. We're already talking about when we can get back up there. 8)

Jeffrey (who I am still nagging over joining the board) and I had so much fun. We are still talking about what a great time we had. We would like to extend an offer to everyone to join us for drinks in Plattsburgh in November, just need to find a time! Thank you Gen and Jim again so much for getting it all together!

Also I have to share my favorite quote of the night!

"That's not a beaver Dave, it's a tiger!"

It's the little known, lesser talked about, often elusive Canadian Tiger-Beaver! The beager!

Yes, I hear you can only see the beager if you have several drinks inside of Canada.

I'm horrible about getting on these forums. I'm thinking of making a return visit to Montreal in the future. I'm usually hanging out with the guys in gutter demons or the brains while there. It'd be nice to meet other fellow tiki enthusiasts as well.

We will definitely be back north again. It has been too long and 26 hours was really only time for a few drinks and a round of smoked meats. So much more to do!

Montreal is one of my favorite gastronomic cities in the Western hemisphere. My idea of a perfect evening is a little Joe Beef followed by a lotta tiki!

It was you! Dave was talking about how Canadian the bar was to have a stuffed beaver. It still makes me laugh.
