When we lived in the wilds of Scarborough (suburb of Toronto) we proudly displayed the classic pair of pink flamingoes in our front yard. I even dressed them up for Halloween. Sadly the neighborhood yahoos felt it was necessary to keep stealing them. Well, just one of them. Luckily, we had stocked up when we heard they might be discontinued so we always had replacements ready.
One year I did a "I'm dreaming of a pink Christmas" window at my vintage furniture store, and the extra flamingoes came in handy!

It happens occasionally here in FL that people get "Flamingoed"

They show up on your lawn one morning, stay a day or two, then quietly fly away during the night.

One of my favorite Halloween decorations was the "skelemingo" but, sadly, someone adopted him one night.

I have yet to replace them but now seems as goid a time as any. :fez:

Our pink flamingos are alive and well (for now) in our garden. I returned to the store where we got them to get more and they were no more...just a one time thing, sadly. However, they did a 3 miniature guys laying around the store in dust covered boxes. I scooped them up quickly!

My love of pink flamingos is noted in this piece on the Eichler Network website:
