Yesterday and today the Bahi Hut was on Sarasota's Mid Century Modern tour. I used the event as a deadline to get some things done. We got he new tikis stained and the front overhang rebuilt with new tongue and groove cypress eaves. It looks swell. And met a couple days ago with John Mulder of Eekum Bookum mugs who will be doing a new very limited edition mug for the Hut. The goodness just keeps coming with this place. We are truly fortunate to be working with a owner that now realizes what he has and is committed to keeping it authentic.

The new tikis have been stained a second coat and the rotten front overhang was finished up yesterday. It does not look different, only new, as it should be. Stand by whilst I figure out how to add pics to these posts. It is really starting to look like something now.

Prof. Babe-Alon and I are going to be going down to Sarasota for Thanksgiving. We'll have to make a side trip to see all the renovations!

Keep us posted so we can try and meet up. You might also want to stop by O'learys Tiki Bar at Marina Jacks.

I'm sure your dance card is full with Thanksgiving but if you need any tips on places to visit or things to do while here message me.

Saturday would actually work pretty great for us. Hey bohemiann! Want to make a group meeting about it? Bahi Hut was actually the first tiki bar the Prof. and I went to on a date (and I think it was my first tiki bar ever), so it's a pretty special place and we'd love to meet some FOAM.

Holy crap! I was in Sarasota in 2007 and I had no idea this was even there (I was touring some MCM homes). Anyhow, great stuff!

roadriverrail &. Prof. Babe-Alon ...
Welcome to the outer edges of Fraternal Order of Moai - Gumbo Limbo Chapter.
You showed great prowess in conquering the two Mia-Tai limit at the Bahi Hut and leaving under your own power.
Huzzah !

I know you are both seasoned veterans of the Hut but...
it is still impressive to watch. 8)

Was a FEZ-o-Rama !

Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay and we look forward to your next visit.
Next time we will plan ahead and take you on a bar / home bar crawl. :fez:

Grumblegrumblegrumble...sorry I missed it. Got hung up in St Pete. Couldn’t get free in time. I’ll be back in December. Hopefully there’s another get together

Wow! That's a pretty cool picture. I might have to get one of those crazy cameras. Thanks a bunch for the warm greeting and your work to keep the Bahi Hut! We've got family in the area, so it's only a matter of time before we return!
