Aloha,

I've lurked without an account, but decided to finally sign up.

My name is Kurt Biddle and I live in the SF Bay Area. I was invited to the Northern California FOM Meet n Greet this Saturday and was happy to find a few folks I knew and some I didn't. Everyone was super welcoming and I had a good time.

I would love to join the Fraternal of Moai and this post is making my wishes known.

My home bar is Forbidden Island in Alameda. I've completed the 1st rum list 2x and the 2nd once.

My ability to write something clever here has fled for the day.

Ask me anything!

That seems to always be changing. My go to is the Navy Grog (not the honey version), I love the Black Magic at the Mai Kai (tough to get from California) and always rely on the Mai Tai, which I'm always on a quest to further perfect. Right now it involves Latitude 29 Orgeat, Clement Creole Shrubb and a special mix of rums my friend concocted.

How about yours?

Aloha!
Welcome to the board! I love the black magic too, so tasty!

My boyfriend and I have yet to visit Northern California. Definitely on our to-do list! We did Palm Springs - LA - San diego last summer and absolutely loved it!

Aloha and Welcome!

Fortunately, we live in Gumbo Limbo Land and are able to visit the May-Kai frequently. Although I like most of their drinks, my favorite is between the Black Magic and the Mutiny.

I've been trying different Curacao in my Mai-Tai's as well, mainly since its becoming harder to find Senior Curacao. I have tried Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao (good, not great) and a Thatchers Blood Orange Liquor (disappointing) but I find Clement Orange Shrub complements their Rhum Agricole very well and the Plantation O.F.T.D. gives it a punch.

I just ordered some Latitude 29 Orgeat as well. I hope it lives up to its reputation.

Lucky You!

the Latitude 29 Orgeat is a bit pricey (with shipping) but is nice and marzipan like.

Oh - I'm not in NorCal. I just meant "another" in addition to our already awesome Northern California FOM Fellows
I do manage to get out that way occasionally for work or other reasons. You have an amazing richness of awesome tiki out that way - sooooooooo lucky!!

& Navy Grog is also my current top libation of choice (if I'm forced to pick just one). We make a version at Ohana Luau at the Lake every year that includes Fernet which is amazing

And those of us who knew you in the Bay Area are delighted that you still get down this way. See you April 29 if not before.
