So, Primo, do you agree that tiki is apparently a thing in Burlington?

Well... I am a bit of a tikiphile perhaps, but these are tiki in name only. Everybody is trying it. I have had some decent cocktails in the last year around here but all the mentioned places discovered the existence of orgeat less than a year ago (if they even have yet) because they all subscribe to the same restaurant industry periodicals. I have not seen a stitch of thatch anywhere, but I haven't been to East Burke. Dang, they couldn't even make it through a tiki bar article without mentioning the "T" word.

I would guess that none of the people in the Vermont bars realize tiki is closely associated with polynesian culture and not caribbean-ian.

Waterworks has the best Mai Tai around http://www.waterworksvt.com/beer-cocktails (not mentioned in article)

Thanks Professor Pineapple and xtine. It's feels good to be remembered.

Yeah, they sounded rather parrot-head-ish to me. Glad to know I haven't been missing some big tiki scene in the neighborhood!

We'll have to check out Waterworks!
