OK, so I think we're on for Oct 21 & 22!
What is happening? Where and when are we all meeting up? Are we just hitting the Snowbird or are there other shenanigans involved?
I NEED TO BE PREPARED!!!!

I think several of us are staying at the Ville-Marie Montreal Hotel & Suites Best Western. We're leaving Saturday morning from our house (@ 3 hours or so away), so I imagine we'll be there late morning/early afternoon.

There's no plan beyond Snowbird and meat, as far as I can tell! Snowbird probably close to opening (I think Atomic Bettie is going to make a reservation once we have a firm count).

Also, do we want to do some sort of cocktail bar hop after that? I have at least 2 other places in mind (Idole https://www.facebook.com/idolemontreal/ and 4e Mur https://www.facebook.com/le4emur/ ).

We could also end up at our place for a nite cap and snacks ...or we can do it all.. We are open to anything you guys would like to see :)

haha..there you go :P

This autumn, find your favorite vintage exhibitors at the Vintage Montreal Bazaar. Meet over 30 vintage / retro / antique vendors under the same roof.

For the occasion, a wave of vintage innovations and new exhibitors will be at the rendez-vous!

I'm always open for a bar crawl! Or to see your place. Basically I have no plan whatsoever.

"Best in Canada" is a broad claim! :D As a Montrealer, I leave Schwart'z for the tourists... but it's must-try if you've never tried it.

Seriously: they have some sort of magic voodoo/blessings of the Pickled Gods/tiki power, etc. So, do yourselves a favour and line up. It's the best sandwich in Canada, and I say this as a very proud Torontonian.

My husband and I are totally in! We will probably be in Montreal this Friday night for our anniversary. Are there any other amazing places to get a delicious Polynesian meal? Sorry I've been MIA for a bit.

As for smoked meat sandwiches I'm a big fan of Deli365.

there's a place that opened this summer that serve poke bowls and different kinds of spam musubi. We haven't been yet...but looks great :)

We have other Chinese buffet / tiki decor restaurants but they are out of town so it might be a bit of a trek for a short visit ;)

We should also organize a funeral procession drive by for the late lamented Jardin Tiki, you know, so everyone can pay their respects....

Alright people!
As October is now here, I feel we should start thinking about reserving at the snowbird fairly soon :)

I dunno if this forum offers an easy way to count the attending people but I suggest we should start counting! Since its seems like we'll be a big group, a good 2 weeks notice for the bar would be preferable.

Also, for the unfolding of the evening of the 21st... I'm suggesting this "schedule" (it starts at the furthest point and brings you downtown...where it is my understanding most of you are staying)
I'm listing more than not enough so you can choose where you want to go ;)
I also left the afternoon out in this plan so you can satisfy your "smoked meat needs" lolz

1- Welcoming cocktail and bites at our place.
2 - Snowbird for more cocktails and dinner
3- L'Idole
4- Big in Japan
5- 4th wall
6- Mal Nécessaire (wants to be tiki without much success..but they're trying!)

let me know!

This sounds great! I'm thinking my husband and I will go up to the Vintage bazaar and then meet with you, go to Snowbird and then maybe head back south to Plattsburgh.

Sad to say, it ain't such a pretty site anymore... worth a drive-by, though. The big sign is still there, but squatters and looters have taken anything of value that hasn't rotted away. Sad to see that a lot of those awesome lamps are just to high out of reach.

Sounds awesome.

As far as Snowbird goes I have been trying to count heads in the discussion here. Sounds like definitely 10, maybe as many as 15?

Anyone better at match than me?
