WHOA! Tiki Topple is pretty expensive online. Must be long out of print. :(

Aloha, Tarana-Pete, I believe I have an extra Tiki Topple sitting in my closet. PM me your address. It's yours!

I have an entire subset of tiki/Hawaiian/tropical island themed games in my collection (35 owned and still searching for a dozen or so more). Not to mention zombie and pirate themed stuff, which I haven't even bothered to count up. Anyway, I hope to use some of these as the basis for my presentation for my collecting tusk, and I plan to do reviews on all of them so other people can learn about this niche of a niche they might not be aware of.

Also, just as an FYI, Gamewright re-released Tiki Topple this year in a new packaging (the third different box since it was first released), so it should be easier to find than it has been.

AWESOME MAN!! Love it! You should make a definitive list with reviews.

That's awesome! My husband and I are big game fans with probably over 80 games in the house. That being said the only one we own that is possibly Tiki themed would be Lost Cities. Although if it was just island themed, then I guess Jamaica would count?

I've gotten to the point where I have to split my groupings into Pacific and Atlantic areas. Games like Puerto Rico, Tobago, and Big Kini fall into the Atlantic grouping. (I put Big Kini in that group only because to me it has a distinctly Florida Keys feel) Anything else that is generically tropical I assign to the Pacific realm because....well....I want to.

We're planning to bring the Gumbo Limbo game to the Weeki Wachee Weekender. Will try to remember to take some pics.

I've seen Tobago and Puerto Rico but have never played them. I think the last time someone was going to show me Puerto Rico I got distracted and ended up playing Tokaido instead (this would have been at a GameFest in Atlanta).

SJVL? Haven't played it, but reactions to it seem to be split. I think experienced gamers might not enjoy it as much as novice gamers. Seems there can be issues with AP players causing extended turn lag, which then leaves the other players with nothing to do. The main board also seems to be a bit small for all that it's got going on, and in the average dimly tiki bar, it might be difficult to see what's going on.

But, it may be worth the price just for the very Shag-esque artwork alone. (The designers were originally looking to get Shag on the project, but he had suffered an injury, and wasn't available.) The colors are eye popping and the style is carried out very well through the whole game. As a bonus, and to carry the theme even further, the cards used in play each have a different cocktail recipe on them.

I did see this in my FLGS, and gave it a pass. But it's not like I don't have other games that excel in their art and are weak in their play (ie Dread Pirate), so, maybe....

Amazon's got a one day gold box sale on board games: https://www.amazon.com/s/browse/ref=gbp ... ascsubtag=

Haven't come across any tiki games yet, but there are several pages to sift through.

Don't forget to switch over to smile.amazon.com when ready to purchase.

Just played Kahuna a couple days ago. I picked up Big Kahuna solitaire since my dog turned my Cracker Barrel solitaire into a chew toy.

I would also highly recommend Tahiti if it hasn't been mentioned yet.
