So I am taking a little trip in October. It will be a London/Paris/Barcelona trip. Flying into London and home from Barcelona. We have a big agenda but always squeeze in all the tiki stuff.

The Obvious spots are places like Dirty Dick, Trader Vics, Trailer Happiness.

Anyone have experience/preferences of must-visit places?

I haven't been to Paris n 6 years or so but there were two good bars I remember:

The Tiki Lounge
26 Rue de Fontaine au Roi
75011 Paris, France

There is also a bar that I'm trying to find the name of. The entrance was part of the catacombs and is lined with skulls as you descend the stairs into the bar. Since the French have been cracking down on that sort of thing recently, it may be closed. When my previous phone died (well, it was washed in the laundry), I lost my photos of the bar.

Dirty Dick is great - the best tiki in Paris. Other Non-tiki bars I like in Paris are Mary Celeste, Maria Loca, and Candelaria. Tacos at Candelaria are amazing.

If you're going anywhere near Munich, you HAVE to go to Pusser's! We stumbled upon it one evening and wow, their Painkillers cannot be beat!!

Trader Vic's in Munich is an awesome time warp, I recommend coat and tie, as we went there in aloha shirts and were certainly ugly Amerikaners for doing so!

I tried to get on of the Filipino waiters to give me a menu and he asked his boss and told me it was Verboten. lol germans

Here's Critiki's map for London:

https://critiki.com/destinations/?city_id=64

The only London tiki bar I've been to, though, was Trailer Happiness. I greatly enjoyed myself there. It seems that more than a few tikiphiles end up not liking it because they go in having the wrong expectations. It's best to think of it as a tiki bar doing a very niche aspect of tiki, those being the final years of tiki in the 1970s. The drinks and kitsch are good, but expect the kitsch to be a decade later than your expect.
