Aloha everyone! This is my first time posting, as my wife and I have recently joined the boards, but have been aficionados of the tiki culture for quite a while. We've been to Tiki O a few times in the past but had our first Ohana experience this past June. We got to meet and talk with so many wonderful people who truly embody the aloha spirit; we felt right at home. Looking forward to the next Ohana and have already put the deposit down for our room!

A bit about myself: For over two decades, I have been teaching fine arts (specifically jewelry, ceramics/pottery, and art history) and performing arts (both acting and technical). I enjoy musicals to an unhealthy degree and am the director/producer for them in the district where I teach. I am a purveyor of many things nerdly: mostly sci-fi and Star Wars, but also RPGs and such.

JessicaChaCha (my wife) and I love traveling whenever time and money permits. Our goal right now is to go to Italy and we've explored national and international locales such as Germany, France, The U.K., and the Czech Republic. Nationally, we have a soft spot for New Orleans, Cape Cod, and San Francisco.

Our best friends and travel companions are fellow FOM, Lucky and Little Funny Fugu. We're also good friends with Baron Von Yinzer and his future wife, who live down the street from us.

As of yesterday, we acquired a fantastic Witco bar and three stools from the Columbus Ohio area, which we're looking forward to restoring as a summer project.

I'm happy to be here, and am looking forward to contributing to the boards and getting acquainted with all of you!

Aloha!

Aloha RaroDANga!

I, too, am a lover of performing arts (mainly acting). I've been in workshops my whole life...I WILL take it to the next step beyond, once I can get work out of my way!

Tarana-Pete (DJ Swankenstein) and I have not been to Pittsburgh yet but we hear there are some SICK record stores we need to hit when we are there. Are you a fan of vinyl too?

Aloha! So wonderful meeting you and JessicaChaCha at Ohana this year. I didn't realize that we needed to connect in the theatre arena. I am trained in theatrical costume and have a degree in theatre arts. Woot! Cheers!!!

That is correct. Although one recently closed, there are still a few more. And the thrift shopping for vinyl is usually pretty damn rad as well.

This man is my hetero-life-mate, the Silent Bob to my Jay, or more apropos the Oscar Madison to my Felix Unger.

We had a grand time retrieving that tiki bar. And I feel like there will soon be another home bar in the Pittsburgh area/ :fez:

And in case you're wondering, yes, a Witco Bar and Three Stools DOES fit perfectly in the back of a Scion xB.
