I wouldn't call Murray Head a reputable source.

There are some beautiful places in Indonesia. We are lucky enough to live in Batam which is directly across the strait from Singapore. A 45 minute ferry ride is all it takes to be in one the greatest cities ever (also one of the most expensive).

A picture from a small resort near us that is owned by a couple of Americans...

What brought you there?
How exciting!

Running a Caterpillar factory that builds large mining shovels. These bad boys move 16 tons of material in every bucket load.

That looks like a beautiful place, and to be that near Singapore is amazing. Are you there for a contracted amount of time? or is it indefinite?
What an adventure! Ok, did you order a Singapore Sling in Singapore? and do they even have them there?

We are here on contract but an indefinite time. It could be another 6 months or another 3 years. It's pretty amazing here and in Singapore.

We've had plenty Singapore slings but not THE Singapore sling yet. Sing legend has it that it was invented in the bar of the Raffles Hotel. My oldest kid and his fiancé are visiting in a couple of weeks. It's on my list of things to do with them.

I took an early retirement and cashed out. I am managing my own retirement investment portfolio. The second best performing stock I have right now is Cat. Up 57% since I bought it and paying over a 3% dividend. A little scared about what may happen to Cat depending on what the new administration does to trade and where the value of the dollar goes. For right now though I love my Cat. Keep up the good work!

Aloooooooha The Big Woo & Cora Nary!

It was FANTASTIC seeing you both at CATT 3 - and great to hear about your plans to come back to the US. Are you back & settled in?? Do tell - we'd love an update! :fez: :fez:

Thanks for bumping this Caroline.

Missed the thread to begin with, but am super interested. It's beautiful over there! Funnylittlefugu lived in Korea for a few years, and the thing she liked the most was how easy it was to travel around there. We forget how big the US sometimes, and that traveling to Ohana for some would be like you traveling to Tokyo, and for others, it's even further!

How are things over your way?
