Aloha from Indonesia.... CoraNary and I decamped from Illinois last year and moved to a smallish island on the other side of the world. It's been an interesting adventure...

When I heard that CATT 3 was in the works and we started talking about planning our 2017 home visit around it I knew what I had to do:

I am formally declaring my desire to join the Fraternal Order of the Moai.

Can it be done from Indonesia.... beats me. Gonna find out. Let's see what happens.

Kāmau kī`aha from the Ring of Fire!

What?

How's Indonesia treating you? Glad you're coming back. You will definitely win the farthest travelled for the CATT. :D

Yeah, what Big Woo said...

Looking forward to coming back during CATT3! We originally had plans to come back in January - I was so bummed to see we'd miss it. Then fate showed pity on us and cancelled our other plans...it was meant to be!

And yes, can we become part of the FOM from over here? I mean, we won't be here forever

Can't wait to see everyone again!

Aloha.

The rules say: "If you begin the membership process from a remote island it may take longer than it would if you lived near a chapter."

You have taken that part about the remote island very literally and the process may involve some "island time" as a result.

But anything is possible. Or possinle as Bargoyle would say.

It's very easy to lose track of the rest of the world over here. We left for Indonesia 4 days after CATT2 and have really only been back once minus a couple of short trips for "family emergencies "
So, glad to be back!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed riding the bus with you guys both for CATT and BaTT. If there is anything I can do to help you on your way to Fellow status just ask.

Transition? There's a phrase "jam karet" here...it means rubber time. There's nothing on time. It could be early, late or never, lol. For the most part, that's okay with me except when We get a formal invitation to a wedding or something and then find out it's the next day!
I guess one bad thing is Muslims are not the best mixologists...they want to make you a nice cocktail, but the smart thing is to say no. Just drink one of the three available beers and mix something yourself when you go home.

Wow, that is devotion! Welcome to the trials! I could not see which island in Indonesia you are on, but I loved Bali! Wishing you much success in the trials!

Cheers!

JonTiki,

I haven't made it to Thailand yet, it's on my list though. Headed to Sri Lanka in a week or so. We've mostly only traveled within Indonesia (there's so much of it).
I'll start working on those pictures. Image

Here's one from my first golf outing...

Not sure what Indonesia smells like, but Thailand had a particular smell...in most parts of it...By the end of the trip we were completely used to it, but the first day, that particular combination of Curry, jasmine flowers, something green, dead fish, diesel fuel, and feces... It was an assault...lol

i hear tell from a reputable source that Bangkok is an oriental city, yet it doesn't know what the city is getting.
