I know everyday is Mai Tai Day but today is the day the press gives it a little extra love.

Thanks for the reminder. Always room for one more excuse to rattle the shaker.

Do you have any idea of the origins of June 30th being NMTD? I've been searching, but haven't found anything specific.

Due to working a 12 hour shift, I didn't get to celebrate. But have no fear, there are some who claim August 30th is the REAL national Mai Tai Day. I say if you can, celebrate both!

The only information I could find about National Mai Tai Day is that "the internet" decided it was Mai Tai Day, based on the number of tweets and other social media mentions of it being so - a grassroots label for June 30th (or, as Doc pointed out, August 30th, depending who you talk to.) I don't have a problem celebrating it twice!

No information just means that the people behind it are good at what they do. Few remember that the new year once started in March.

Well, here's who's pushing August 30th:
Trader Vic's takes issue with June 30th as National Mai Tai Day http://tradervics.com/news/lets-get-the ... gust-30th/

Myself, I just Mai Tai on the 30th of every month just to make sure.
(and quite a few other days of each month too)

That's outstanding, they have a proclamation and everything. Very official. A compelling argument for sure.
