Um, well, I mean, you sort of should feel nervous. Maybe even more than a bit?

This will help:

I'd just be sure to have a thermos full of mai tais when you have your encounter. You can decide whether it's for you or the goat to drink when you're in the moment

Some people might like getting the rag doll treatment by a goat that's sloppy drunk. Others might like to dull the moment(s) for their self. For the goat's mood, sometimes it seems like it is a matter of what it watched on TV the night before. Just hope it wasn't Up Periscope!

Due to an influx of new FOM due to Ohana, HRHH and the fact that we are f-in fab-u-lous, we have built a new training center for the goats.
All of these goats are related to the mother of all FOM goats, Suzanne...may she rest in peace.
This is the only image that we can release from the new facility since the rest is experimental and highly secretive.
The location is also something that cannot be disclosed.
Don't bother looking, you will not find it on Google maps, Earth or otherwise.

Is it only a coincidence that the training center is shaped like a rocket or is this generation of goats being trained for something bigger?

RARE GOAT MAKING ITS RETURN TO GREENVILLE

One of the rarest of the lodge initiation devices made in the early 20th century by DeMoulin Bros. & Co. is returning to Greenville, Illinois. Founded in 1892 by Ed DeMoulin as a manufacturer of regalia and paraphernalia for fraternal lodges, the factory has evolved into one of the world’s leading makers of marching band uniforms. Trick devices---machines that sprayed water, discharged blank cartridges, and shocked the user---were the backbone of DeMoulin’s business for the first 40 years. The goat was the company’s signature piece during this era. Thanks to the generosity of some DeMoulin descendants the rarest variety, the Ferris Wheel Goat, has been donated to the DeMoulin Museum.

Earlier this year, the grandchildren of Oradelle DeMoulin Cartmell, the daughter of original DeMoulin brother Erastus DeMoulin, located a Ferris Wheel Goat being sold by a Burlington, New Jersey antique dealer. Linda Hughey Holt, Mike Hughey, MD, and Tom Hughey contacted the DeMoulin Museum with an offer to donate the money needed to purchase the artifact. The Ferris Wheel Goat had been on the museum’s wish list since opening in March 2010. John Goldsmith, museum curator, praised the donors, “Without their generosity, there’s no way this piece could have been added to our collection. Of the DeMoulin goats, this is the most amazing.

Lodge candidates were blindfolded and strapped on to the body of the goat, which is suspended between two large wheels. According to a vintage DeMoulin catalog, “the unlucky candidate that takes a spin in it, although blindfolded, sees plenty of sights---or imagines he does.”

An unveiling of the DeMoulin Ferris Wheel Goat will be held Saturday, October 5 at 11:00 a.m. at the DeMoulin Museum. Members of the Hughey family will be participating in the short program. The DeMoulin Museum invites the public and other DeMoulin descendants to attend. Refreshments will be served. The museum is located at 110 W. Main Street, near the Greenville square. For more information, call (618) 664-4115.

I guess back then lodges didn't have access to centrifuges, sensory deprivation tanks, optical coherence angiography devices and the like.

Driving passed the goats today and boy do they clear the land fast and there were a lot more than I expected. The goats have a 5000 dollar contact.

"Irish Town Honors His Goatness

In the town of Killorglin in County Kerry, the reins of power are handed to a wild billy goat once a year. It's an opportunity for the people to let out their inner beast -- and for tourists to party the night away, writes reader Desmond F. Kelly.

The crowning of a king has always been cause for celebration. In the small town of Killorglin in the south-west corner of Ireland, it still is -- with a hitch. The king in question is a goat.

"King Puck" is one of the last regents of Ireland, though his reign is a short one -- from August 10 to 12 every year. Nevertheless, the small Irish town of Killorglin (about 100 km. from Cork) has been crowing King Puck since (officially) 1610. The goat-fawning fair is one of the oldest of Ireland's traditional rural celebrations -- and one of its better known.

Still, despite the fair's fame, its origins are somewhat unclear. One theory has the fair dating back to pagan times. Puck, as the male goat is called, could have been seen as a symbol of fertility for a late summer harvest festival.

The more modern theory is that King Puck is a celebration of the fact that a herd of goats, which had been grazing in the countryside nearby, were scared up by pillaging “Roundheads,” the soldiers of Oliver Cromwell. One goat galloped off towards the town in a state of fear, thus alerting the townspeople to the approaching danger. (A third, and less romantic, version involves legal loopholes, greedy landlords and tax evasion.)"

Ahhhh the Puck Fair! Been to it a couple of times. There used to be a bar in NYC that was named the Puck Fair. They had a fake goat in the cage on a pole.
