I liked Stan Lee a lot as a personality and I'm really not one to question or otherwise tarnish someone's legacy.
He did great things throughout his life, was a master storyteller and his impact and influence are undeniable.

But the truth is, he was also a thief.

He "created" superheroes much in the same way Christopher Columbus 'discovered" America.

Admittedly, back in the "golden age of comics", it was completely an owner's based operation.
Artists were brought on and paid, for the job they did. With no thought to creative control or ownership of their creations.
it just wasn't an option.
Whatever you produced was owned outright by the company you worked for.
You were entitled to your check and nothing more. Sometimes not even credit.
Stan Lee took advantage of the system and made it work for him.

It's been well documented that he had very little to do with the actual "creation" process of characters like Spider-Man and Dr. Strange, even though he's credited for it and used that misinformation to booster his profile.

Again, I don't want to sound like I'm diminishing his accomplishments, I'm not and I liked the guy in his later years, but I do think it's unfair that people like Steve Ditko, Jack Kirby, Chris Cleremont, etc never got the credit they actually deserved because of a system Lee contributed to.

My dad briefly worked for both Marvel and DC and can give you first hand accounts of how shabbily the actual creators were treated.

All that being said, he seemed like a nice enough guy ( in his later years ) and it's a shame that he was abused by his family at the end of his life.
